The Marawi siege continues in Mindanao and many members of our soldiers and marines sacrificed their lives just to save the people of Marawi. Military officers were also killed during the encounter with the Maute group. Aside from this, many civilians are still trapped in dangerous zones.
One of the brave men who fought against the Maute group was killed again last Friday, June 9, 2017. Private First Class Gener Tinangag was a member of the Marine Battalion Landing Team 7 (MBLT-7). He was one of the thirteen fallen Marines who had an encounter with the terrorist at Barangay Lilod Madaya.

In an interview, a colleague of Tinangag said he was still able to talk to the Private First Class officer. He mentioned that Tinangag was rescuing and sending injured colleagues to him, hence, the Marine from Mountain Province was still able to save lives of others before he was shot dead. He was surprised when it was already Tinangag’s body that was passed to him.
