Here in the Philippines, it is really hard to trust any security or law-maintaining government facility.
Sadly, even the jail guards have their own version of corruption and maltreatment. In an episode of Bitag hosted by Raffy Tulfo, the female relatives of an inmate were forced to sit on a piece of plywood as these inspectors do their ‘job.’ Without their knowledge, a hidden camera sits just below, recording their private parts.
Sadly, according to the females, they simply let the guards do their business, in the fear of harassment or being banned from seeing their loved ones behind bars.
According to the Commission on Human Rights, the jail guards have violated the rules on privacy and respecting one’s body.
They were appalled and in disbelief by the guards’ practices.
What can you say about this?
