Losing a baby is a tragedy no parent should ever have to endure. Sometimes these unfortunate events happen to the nicest people.
However, this Filipino couple in Abu Dhabi, rather than wallow in grief, found strength in each other and their faith in Jesus Christ.
Bing Espiritu was 35-weeks pregnant when she was involved in a car accident which tragically cost the life of her unborn baby girl.
In an interview with the Asian parent Philippines, Bing describes how the horrific events unfolded:
“My friend offered to drop me home from work, but unfortunately the accident happened. We were three in the car, but I was the only one who met a serious injury.”
She added that the car crash left her with a fractured jaw and arm.
After being rushed to the hospital after the accident, the doctors confirmed that the baby died. They allowed Bing to undergo a normal delivery instead of a C-section to extract the dead baby.
Even with a heavy heart, Bing and her supportive husband JC remained committed to their faith in God. They even named their little angel “Winter Gabriel.”
“When we knew that we were having a baby, my husband and I dedicated him to the Lord, knowing that our son is actually His. The meaning of Gabriel is ‘God is our strength’. True enough, Jesus has been our strength through the Winter season of our lives,” Bing said.
The couple still admits to feeling the pain of such a devastating loss, but find comfort and peace in knowing that their little Winter is in Heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Netizens found their tale bittersweet – both heartbreaking and inspirational.
During Winter’s wake, the parents sang an original lullaby to their daughter for the first and only time.
