What change has this song (‘Pushpa Pushpa’) made in your life?
Singing for a film like ‘Pushpa 2’ has been a transformative experience for me. The immense love and overwhelming response that the film has received from audiences across the globe amplify the impact of its music. Having a song in such a monumental project is nothing short of a blessing, and it has given me a piece of work that I will treasure for the rest of my life. It’s a proud moment to be associated with a franchise that has redefined cinema in so many ways.
Have you met Allu Arjun? If yes, how was your first meeting with him?
Yes, I had the pleasure of meeting Allu Arjun briefly during the promotions, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. He is incredibly polite, humble, and grounded, despite the massive stardom he enjoys. From the very first moment, he made me feel completely at ease with his warm and cordial demeanor. Beyond his on-screen charisma, he is a genuinely kind and welcoming person. Meeting him gave me a deeper understanding of why he is loved by so many—his personality is as extraordinary as his talent.
Your personal favorite song from ‘Pushpa 1’?
It’s honestly a tough choice, given the brilliance of the entire ‘Pushpa’ album. I had the honor of singing ‘Eyy Bidda Idhi Naa Adda’ in the first part, which holds a special place in my heart. Apart from that, I’m a huge fan of ‘Saami Saami’, beautifully rendered by Sunidhi Chauhan. The electrifying ‘Oo Antava’ is unforgettable, while Vishal Dadlani’s powerful ‘Jaago Jaago Bakre’ and Javed Ali’s soulful ‘Srivalli’ are equally remarkable. Each song has its own magic, making it nearly impossible to pick just one favorite.
How has your association with the director of ‘Pushpa’ been?
Interestingly, I haven’t had the chance to meet Sukumar ji in person yet, which surprises many. However, his work speaks volumes about his genius. Time and again, he proves why he is regarded as one of the finest filmmakers in the industry. His vision, storytelling, and the way he brings out the best in everyone involved are nothing short of extraordinary. Being a part of his cinematic universe, even indirectly, has been an honor.
Did you receive any tips to make this song more appealing?
I received some invaluable guidance from Devi Sri Prasad ji while recording the song. His passion for music and his knack for perfection are truly inspiring. He shared specific tips on how to emote certain lines and how to deliver them in a way that enhances their impact. His energy is infectious, and working with him has been a fantastic learning experience. I have immense trust in his vision as a composer, and his constant feedback helped elevate the song to a whole new level.
