Throwback: When Allu Arjun said that Bollywood is no longer ‘making heroes’ | Telugu Movie News – Times of India

Telugu superstar Allu Arjun has found himself in a soup, as he was arrested yesterday in connection with a female fan’s death during the ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ premiere. Even though the actor got bail, he is yet to be released from Jail.

The actor is currently basking from the stupendous success of Pushpa 2, that is shattering box office records day by day. However, did you know that once he had said that Bollywood no longer makes heroes?
Filmmaker Nikkhil Advani in an interview with Galatta Plus earlier this year said, “I met Allu Arjun and we were talking about doing a film and he looked at me and he said ‘you know what’s wrong with Bollywood?’ You all have forgotten how to be heroes.”

Nikkhil added, “Everyone thinks about south cinema being mythology and everything, but they take the core emotion. Like water irrigation, let’s make a film about it and now they have packaged that with incredible action, incredible moments of heroism.”
Coming back to Allu’s arrest, the controversy surrounding the same has taken a new turn. Bhaskar, the husband of the female fan, Revathi, has expressed his willingness to withdraw the case, stating that he does not blame the actor for the stampede or his wife’s tragic death.
Speaking to the media after Allu’s arrest in Hyderabad on Friday (13 December), Bhaskar clarified that their family had visited Sandhya Theatre that day because his son wanted to watch the film. He said, “It’s not Allu Arjun’s fault that he was present at the theatre. I am ready to withdraw my case. I wasn’t informed of his arrest and only learned about it while at the hospital.” According to Hindustan Times, he added, “He (Arjun) has nothing to do with the stampede.”
Allu was arrested early on Friday morning following Bhaskar’s initial complaint. The Hyderabad Police apprehended the actor from his Jubilee Hills residence and took him to the police station for questioning. He was later taken to a hospital for a medical check-up before being presented in court.
The incident occurred on 4 December when a massive crowd gathered outside Sandhya Theatre at RTC Crossroads to catch a glimpse of the actor during the screening of ‘Pushpa 2’. Amid the chaos, a stampede-like situation erupted, resulting in the death of Revathi and critical injuries to her young son.

A case was filed against Allu, his security team, and the theatre management at the Chikkadpally police station based on the family’s complaint. Police charged them under Sections 105 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Meanwhile, Allu Arjun has approached the High Court, seeking to dismiss the FIR. The court is expected to hear his plea later today.
